We desired to produce a wedding styled shoot concept that would be appealing to both the groom and the bride – combining masculine and feminine / hard and soft elements – hence the birth of our theme “Delicately Industrial”. This theme would be suitable for a laid-back couple with rustic taste; wanting a casual yet sophisticated tailor-made experience. As a foundation for the look we worked with hard industrial building materials like slate, marble, agate, raw wood, cement, steel, wire, mirror and oil drums and softened these elements with white florals, berries, foliage, linen, delicate, glassware, ribbon and lace. This look requires layering of texture and relies on the character and beauty of imperfections. It is an uncluttered simple look; achieved through careful selection and placement of items; so as to facilitate easy flow and conversation, but still maintains that wow factor through strong structured focal features and attention to quality details. Florals: Carefully selected florals are key to finishing off any styled look. We worked with hard and soft / fresh and dry textures to bring the contrasting / yet complimentary theme into the floral details. Soft white blooms – orchids, garden roses & hydrangea. Foliage – Dry fynbos, staghorn ferns, air plants, succulents, penny-gum, long leaf blue-gum, peppercorn leaves, pampas grass. Something Blue – Sea Holly and blue sprayed berries.         The Ceremony Area: We decorated the striking open-air framed chapel structure with florals, foliage and textured hurricanes. We created focal features using steel frame marble top plinths decorated with staghorn ferns with berries, hexagonal marble stools and oil drums filled with pampas grass. For the...
